Amanda Washington is a native of Lithonia, Georgia. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Theatre from Brenau University. She went on to attain her Masters of Fine Arts in Directing from the University of Southern Mississippi. Washington has experience directing a myriad of work ranging from theatre for young audiences to new works and everything in between.
Some of Washington's most dynamic and thought-provoking work includes Gem of the Ocean by August Wilson, Metamorphoses by Mary Zimmerman, and Tomas and the Library Lady by Jose Cruz Gonzalez. Amanda has worked with playwrights to help bring their script from text to performance. She has also collaborated with other artists to set ideas down on paper to form a script.
Amanda believes collaboration is one of the biggest keys to a successful production. Having a vision then being able to listen and incorporate ideas that best help fulfill the concept is what makes for a fruitful process filled with adventure, optimism, and achievement.
